Not quite sure what he saw in her, either. Subcharacters are well drawn--Jessica's adoptive parents initially come off as a pair of crunchy granola hippie types played for laughs, but they are allowed to fully develop, something that doesn't always happen with parents in YA books! The sarcastic and funny remarks trading off from each character is quite hilarious to read and I really liked the unforgotten tension between the two main characters.

He's not gonna throw her on the snow covered grass and have his way.... I wanted her to lighten up. I won't ruin the surprise, but there were times when I wanted to shake both Lucius and Jessica.
Jessica doesn't even think of the people that raised her for 18 years. Liz Braswell, Disney Press Narrated by: Lucius is portrayed as this male student who is always there to protect Jessica, as is his duty. Now, if there was going to be a sequel, that would change I can say that I was looking forward to this book.
The main conflict, referring to the transition to vampire princess, is minimal compared to the real conflicting themes, of identity, independence, and self discovery. I don't know if I'd recommend this book to anyone - I know it's popular, and I'm sure other readers will enjoy it. As for the prose, well, it's decent, moves at a fast pace, is mostly dialogue, and has some suspense.

He was dark at times and other times he was very kind in his own way. Now, if there was going to be a sequel, that would change I can say that I was looking forward to this book. I got this on a whim after reading the summary and figuring it would be a spoof on the whole YA vamp craze, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that I really enjoyed it-so much so that after it ended I listened to it again that same day. This book is hysterically funny and the characters are fantastic. Lucius was the one I was worried about.

So overall, this book will leave you more frustrated and angry than anything. Amazon Second Chance Pass it on, trade it in, give it a second life. It is not the case here. If you're going to suspend disbelief to get all excited about vampires, you may as well go the whole hog. The lack of information is more of an inconvenience to Jessica than the reader because as the secrets are revealed she is able to make decisions that are appropriate instead of making incorrect inferences and choices.
Great story I completely enjoyed it and couldn't put it down, flows effortlessly. She wants to date another boy and tries to resist her attraction to Lucius. Overall, I enjoyed it, and am not ashamed to say I cried at the end. View all 4 comments. I really liked this book at first I wasn't sure what to expect... Lucius swoops into town ready to fulfill his end of a bargain.
